SmartBoard Letter Identification and Sound Sorting Lesson

Use this SmartBoard Lesson to identify letters and the words that begin with their sound. Each slide begins with "hunt for the letter" with a blue circle underneath. The student touches the blue circle, it will disappear, uncovering the letter to be found, such as Aa. Next, there is a box full of letters and pictures that the student will need to sort. The student has to drag the letter or picture under the "thumbs up" if it belongs with the letter they are hunting for. If it doesn't they drag it down to the "thumbs down" area.

The next slide is a place where the students can trace the letter and draw a picture of another item that begins with the letter.

The finished presentation can be printed out to create a class alphabet book.

The unfinished presentation can be printed out to be completed as worksheets or homework!
