What educators are saying

I used this during the first 2 weeks of school and will revisit it throughout the year. The material was engaging for my grade 7 class.
I am very excited to have found this resource to support my math community in my class this year! The resources are high quality, eye-catching and I look forward to implementing the resources in this bundle and developing a more positive growth-mindset in math this year.

    Description

Developing social emotional learning skills in math will help your students to feel more confident in their math skills and build resilience as math learners.

It is important to integrate social emotional learning skills into the different math strands and this bundle of resources will help you to do just that.

    This bundle contains:

    • Digital Math Journal Prompts help students learn how to reflect on their learning as they solve word problems. They can be used with any unit!

    • Growth Mindset in Math Activity encourages students to confront their beliefs about math. Using a four corners activity students will share their opinions about “math brains” and hear the opinions of others. An exit ticket will serve as a reflection and as a formative assessment so students can share their learning.

    • Math Mindset Journal includes prompts to get your students reflecting on their mindset and will motivate them to see themselves as learners who are capable of doing math.

    • Number Talks develop computational fluency in your students. Incorporating number talks as a quick, daily routine helps students investigate and apply math relationships, view and test other strategies, share ideas by defending thinking, strategies, and solutions

    • Math Talk Sentence Starters help students learn how to ask questions during the consolidation part of your lesson, specifically when other students are sharing their problem-solving strategies with the class.

    • Women in STEM Posters will help your students to become familiar with some amazing women who made an impact in the science, technology, engineering and math fields.
