Description

(Color version)

The joys of teaching winning and losing! This particular skill is a tough one. My students have a very difficult time understanding that they can't always win a game, and that it is ok not to win. The most important part of this story is that it provides kids with pictures and a script that they can use with their friends to help them respond appropriately. This is helpful for all students, but especially helpful for children on the autism spectrum.

A social story is an awesome way to provide a visual or written guide for kids of all ages and abilities. Social stories can address various social interactions, skills, routines. The goal of a social story is to provide information to help inform kids in a simple and fun way!
When I work with my students, I find that having a visual example of what is going to happen, or how to solve a problem, helps to lower anxiety and increase fun.
