Description
This product includes NINE fun Summer Themed writing mini projects!
This would be great for a summer writing project to keep students writing skills up over the long break!
Each writing prompt includes:
- Project example
- Graphic organizer for planning
- Space for writing
- Rubrics
June:
- Summer Road Trip: Summer is the perfect time to hit the road with your family! Choose a state to travel to, and plan three places to visit during your stay. Happy travels!
- Food Truck: Design your own food truck! Create your restaurant on wheels' name, choose the type of food you will sell, then design a menu with three items you will sell. Finally, create a food critic's review for your local newspaper, convincing people to visit your truck!
- Summer Poetry: Use your 5 senses to write a poem that describes an activity or object in the summer season!
July:
- Perfect Summer Day: You just had the best summer day with your family. Create a journal about all the fun things you did and include pictures of your day.
- Olympic Sports: The Olympics are held in the summer every four years. Choose one of the Olympic sports to research. Then, create an instructional poster to teach your audience how to do this Olympic sport.
- Create your own Summer Camp: If you could open your own summer camp, what would the theme be? Create a plan for your camp, a map of the camp, and make a flyer telling people all about your new camp!
August:
- Set the Scene: Choose from three photos of summer activities, then write out a description of the scene using your 5 senses!
- Summer Store: With some extra time on your hands this summer, you decide to open your own store! Draw a picture of your store and create a business plan detailing all we need to know about your store and what you sell. Finally, create a radio advertisement persuading people to come check out your new business!
- Treasure Map Adventure: You and your friends find a bottle washed up on the beach. Inside is a treasure map that leads you on an adventure like no other! Create your own treasure map, then write a play that tells the story of the obstacles you face along the way to finding the buried treasure.
I would love to hear in the reviews what your students thought and how you used it in your classroom!
