What educators are saying

My students really enjoyed this resource once they got the hang of how to play. They often ask to play it during free time on Fridays.
I used this as an end of the quarter activity with 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. We had snacks and prizes. The kids had so much fun! Thank you!

Description

This is the classic dice game set up for the classroom! BUNCO is an exciting and fast-paced dice game for large groups. It's a great team building activity because players change partners with each round- so they should get the opportunity to work with almost everyone in the class. Partners work together rolling three dice and try to score as many points as possible before the bell rings.

This game is addictive and lots of fun for all ages (as long as players can add 1, 2, 21, and 7). Families play it at family reunions, coworkers get together once a month to play, school clubs play in elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools. To play with lower grades - younger children- change the rules and add 1, 2, 5, and 10 - or some variation of the multiples you are currently practicing.

This set includes: three templates for printable BUNCO cards to use with your students (one holiday version), a PowerPoint that includes student friendly game directions as well as a set of editable screens that can be displayed during the game to help students follow along and keep score - especially if they are new to the game. One BUNCO tournament usually takes at least an hour and up to an hour and a half, but they will want to play again and again throughout the school year.

I have used this as an end of the year activity for many years. It's such a positive and fun way to end the year and interact with students.

Materials Needed: Three six sided dice for each pair of students, some kind of bell or noise maker to indicate the start and stop of each round, students need pencils to fill out their BUNCO cards, paper and a copier to copy BUNCO cards for each student. (I like to copy mine on colored paper to make it more festive.), a projector / computer if you want to use the PowerPoint to help students follow along with the game and explain directions. (Absolutely silly prizes/ awards/ certificates to distribute to students at the end of the tournament.)

I have left this PowerPoint editable. I am not a full time TpT seller and would like this to be as usable as possible. Please use this for your own classroom. Please do not make copies for other classrooms, create and sell/ distribute other units using these resources, claim this work as your own, or repost this resource for free. Thank you!
