This resource could be used for Word of the Day or in numerous other ways. It includes:
• 70 Test Prep Word Wall Cards (3 cards per page) - color
• 1 master list of all 70 words/terms (2 pages) - grayscale
• 1 graphic organizer (2 per page) - grayscale
• 1 interactive flap book with flaps for each word (on 12 pages) - grayscale

This file contains 70 Test Prep Vocabulary Terms that are often found on standardized tests. It is important that students understand these very important words before testing situations. These academic vocabulary words/ terms are NOT used frequently in oral speaking situations but are VERY much used in standardized testing! Students are often confused by the questions. They are often not sure what the question is asking them to do. Learning these words will help students understand the questions and then they will be able to demonstrate their knowledge.
Suggested Uses
• Teach 1 word a day for 14 weeks
• Teach 2 words per week for 35 weeks
• Teach 3 words per week for 24 weeks
• Teach 4 words per week for 18 weeks (Mon. - Thurs. - Review on Friday)
The words/terms can be taught in any order.
Some of the words in this set are: analyze, apply, appropriate, approximate, characteristics, classify, communicate, compare, components, conclude, conduct, construct, contrast, create, data, define, demonstrate, describe, designate, details, develop.
~ For the teacher, there is a Master List of the 70 vocabulary terms with definitions.
~ Also included is a Graphic Organizer that students can fill out for each word or term as it is introduced in class. These can be made into a mini test- prep vocabulary dictionary, or the organizers can be glued into a notebook, or put into a folder.
~ Also included is an Interactive Flap Book (pages) for use in students’ notebooks. Each flap page has 6 tabs and lists one word on each tab. A total of 12 flap pages plus a blank page are included. Students can write the definition or any other information that the teacher wants about the word under each tab.
~ Also included is a blank Bingo Template. Students can choose words from the vocabulary cards that have been studied in class and fill in their Bingo Card with 24 words. The teacher or a student can shuffle the word wall cards and use them as calling cards by reading the definitions that are on the cards.
The Word Wall cards could be printed on card stock or photo paper and laminated for long-lasting durability.
