The main objective of this lesson is for students to examine various historical perspectives of the Crusades and determine the causes and impacts of them

There are 4 different activity options for students based around two readings.

Activity Options 1 and 2:

Reading 1 – The Causes and Effects of Crusades 1–4 (699 words)

Option 1 – Students answer the questions on the Cause and Effect Worksheet

Option 2 – Students complete a box chart outlining the causes, events, and impacts of Crusades 1-4

Activity Options 3 and 4:

Reading 2 - Historical Perspectives of the Crusades (967 words)

Option 3 – Students examine different reasons for people joining/starting the Crusades on the graphic organizer included.

Option 4 – Students determine the Religious, Political, Economic, and Social causes/motivations for the Crusades on the graphic organizer.
