Description
"The Me I Want to Be" is a project students are able to create independently. I use it in my classroom as a menu activity the weeks before we have our final parent-teacher conferences. Students attend those conferences and share the short presentation with their parents at the beginning of conferences. Parents are always very pleased by the reflection and goal-setting components of the presentation.
This could also be used as an end-of-the-year project as students prepare to enter the next grade level.
In the 8 page document students are given a scenario about building their future. They are led through a series of steps to create their presentation as they consider what they would like to build into their future self. Examples are included at each step to help students participate in this project independently. In addition, a self-check rubric is included at the end to help students evaluate their final project.
