ABOUT BINGO BOOKS

Created by Rebecca Stark

EDUCATIONAL BOOKS ’N’ BINGO

Bingo Books are complete bingo games in a book. They are great for end-of-the-unit reviews and can also be used as assessment tools. Curriculum-related bingo games (science, social studies, language arts, and math) provide comprehensive coverage of the subject and are a great way to reinforce and test knowledge. There is also a bingo book for each of the 50 states.

FORMAT

Each game includes 50 terms with 2 or 3 clues for each. Choose the clue cards randomly as you would in any bingo style game. The game organizer will read the clues for the selected term. Students will use their knowledge to search their bingo sheets for the correct answer. 30 unique bingo sheets are included. There is a blank space in the middle of each sheet; you can instruct the students to use them as a free space or you can add terms not included.

The Renaissance Bingo Book is designed for middle-school and high-school social studies. The following names/terms are included: The Book of the Courtier, Tycho Brahe, Filippo Brunelleschi, Guiliano Bugiardini, John Cabot, caravel, Baldassare Castiglione, city-state(s), Christopher Columbus, Nicolaus Copernicus, Counter Reformation, Vasco da Gama, Leonardo da Vinci, doge, dome(s), Duomo, English, Florence, fresco, Galileo Galilei, The Golden Book, guild(s), gunpowder, Johannes Gutenberg, heliocentric, Henry Hudson, humanism, Johannes Kepler, Martin Luther, Niccolo Machiavelli, Ferdinand Magellan, Mannerism, Christopher Marlowe, Medici, Michelangelo, Isaac Newton, patron, perspective, Francis Petrarch, Prince Henry the Navigator, Raphael Sanzio, Reformation, Renaissance, William Shakespeare, Sistene Chapel, sonnet, tapestries, Titian, Jan van Eyck, and Venice.

Teacher Try-It Review for the Indiana Bingo Game:

“Recently I played Indiana State Bingo with my fourth-grade students. The first thing I did was look over the terms to make sure they had all been covered in my Indiana History class. There were very few that had not been covered, but I talked to them about the ones they had not had so I could use all the cards. The instructions were very easy to follow. It took less than ten minutes to get the game ready to play. We played several rounds, and the students really enjoyed transferring the knowledge they had learned all year into a fun game of BINGO. I will use this game several more times this year because I feel that it is a good review for the students.”
