Tuning Fork Lab

Description
This is a fairly quick laboratory activity to give students a hands-on experience with frequency and sound. Materials needed are tuning forks, rulers, and some beakers or basins of water. This activity will help students make a connection between size of instrument, wave length, frequency, pitch, and musical notes. This product does not come with additional instructions for the teacher. Students pretty simply hit tuning forks with mallets, with as consistent force as possible, and then put the fork into a basin of water while it is vibrating to be able to observe the size of the waves it makes easier.
