The packet includes:
- Water park scene with semantic absurdities: Use the water park scene to target semantic absurdities. The students will enjoy looking for things that do not make sense and will then have an opportunity to explain their reasoning.
A tracking sheet with visuals and a prompt is included to help students talk about all eight absurdities
- Listen up and fix it cards: Have the students listen to various absurd sentences. Ask them to tell you why the sentences do not make sense. Have the students correct the sentences.
- Silly sentence-building task with flap book: Have the students flip the pages and make silly sentences. The students will have a blast completing this activity!
This resource reflects my speech and language background as well as my extensive experience (over 20 years!) as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist.
