What educators are saying

This was a great sub plan that provided my students with an engaging cultural tidbit that we may not have had time for otherwise. THANKS!
This was a great tool to add to my Valentine's Day unit. I liked that there were a variety of articles and levels. It was informative and easy to use.

Description

This is a reading about El Día de San Valentín (Valentine's Day) in Spanish-speaking countries. It can be used anytime during February. It is also a good emergency substitute plan for Spanish teachers to keep handy.

This packet includes three articles related to Valentine's Day in Spain and Latin American countries. Comprehension questions follow each article. After reading the articles and answering questions, students fill out a Venn diagram to compare and contrast the way another country celebrates Valentine's Day with the way we celebrate in the United States. Also included is a crossword puzzle.

Each article and question is in English, so you can use this with any level. There is also a section that explains the ways to say "I love you" in Spanish.

Countries featured are Spain, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Bolivia, and Venezuela.
