Valentine's Music Printables {Ready Set Print}

This set of worksheets is designed help your students practice known rhythmic and melodic concepts within Valentine's themed songs. These would be fun to use in a lesson the week of or leading up to Valentine's Day, but can also be used year round. Very easy to leave with a sub.

It includes:
- "Valentine's Rhythms" worksheet. (Practice ta, titi, ti-tiri) Students match the first rhythmic phrase of from each song to the correct title and picture of the song.

- "Valentine's Melodies" worksheet. (Tone set - drmfsl) Students match the first melodic phrase of from each song to the correct title and picture of the song.

- "Valentine, Red and Blue" worksheet- (Practice half note) Students complete the song by writing in the missing rhythms.

- "Ida Red" worksheet- (Practice tiri-ti) Students complete the song by writing in the missing rhythms.

- "Valentine, Red and Blue" worksheet- (Practice re) Students cut and paste the melodic patterns to put the song in order.

- "Valentine, Red and Blue" worksheet- (Practice half note) Students cut and paste the rhythm patterns to put the song in order.

- "Big Bunch of Roses" worksheet- (Practice syncopa) Students cut and paste the rhythm patterns to put the song in order.

- "Color by Rhythm" (Practice ta, titi, ta rest, and half note) Students color in the picture according to the rhythms.

- "Notate a Song - A Tisket, A Tasket" worksheet - (Practice notating music with ta, titi, split ti's, and ti anacrusis, and pitches m sl) Rhythms with stick notation and solfa letters underneath are provided for the song. Students must transfer from stick to staff, including stems and beams.

- "Notate a Song - Valentine, Red and Blue" worksheet - (Practice notating music with ta, titi, ta rest, and half note, and pitches drm sl) Rhythms with stick notation and solfa letters underneath are provided for the song. Students must transfer from stick to staff, including stems and beams.

- "Compose a Valentine's Chant" Pictures are provided of a heart, chocolate candy, envelope, and flowers. Students can put them in any order they wish to create their own pattern/chant. Older students could figure out the actual rhythms, but it is not required. Students could then practice chanting their pattern and play it on a percussion instrument.
