What educators are saying

This was an awesome product! My students loved this and were very focused and engaged. The lesson aligned well with the 4th-grade standards on erosion. All of the stations were built on one another and students loved the variety. The directions and layout were very easy to follow.
These stations made for great sub plans. Easy to prep and easy for the students and the sub to follow!

Description

Do your students understand how slow changes like weathering, erosion, and deposition change Earth's surface? Erosion Science Stations includes 9 stations to help your students to explore weathering, erosion, and deposition in a variety of ways!

Includes guided student sheets, an answer key, quicker prep, and improved activities for your class!

9 Stations

Read It: Read about Earth’s changing landforms due to wind, water, and ice.

Create It: Use information provided to build diagrams that show canyon formation, sand dune formation, and frost wedging.

Watch It: Watch a video and answer questions.

Match It: Match four landforms to a description of how they are formed. Then complete a table.

Analyze It: Compare and contrast constructive and destructive forces.

Draw It: Draw pictures of 6 landforms– sand dune, canyon, mesa, sea arch, U-shaped valley, and delta.

Explore It: Use a straw and sand to model the formation of sand dunes. Draw a diagram of the model.

Explain It: Observe and explain a photograph that shows precautions taken to prevent beach erosion.

Sort It: Sort processes as occurring due to wind, water, or ice.

Teachers Love It!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What an amazing product! Thank you so much for sharing! My students loved completing these activities. I have never seen them more engaged and focused on work when working in groups or at centers. I used this as an end of unit wrap up and it really helped cement everything we had learned and pushed their knowledge even further. Thanks for sharing! -Lindsay A.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a great way to wrap up erosion before our test. I loved that this really gave students an opportunity to test their knowledge independently, and I was able to see where reteaching was needed. My students really loved these stations and it was a fun and interactive day. -Cassandra H.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I love the variety of ways students are exposed to one topic. It gives them multiple ways to grasp a concept. All of the stations are easy to set up, use, and for students to understand. There isn't a lot of prep for the teacher either which is always a plus! -Sadie K.

NGSS5-ESS2-1
Develop a model using an example to describe ways the geosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and/or atmosphere interact. Examples could include the influence of the ocean on ecosystems, landform shape, and climate; the influence of the atmosphere on landforms and ecosystems through weather and climate; and the influence of mountain ranges on winds and clouds in the atmosphere. The geosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere are each a system. Assessment is limited to the interactions of two systems at a time.
NGSS4-ESS2-1
Make observations and/or measurements to provide evidence of the effects of weathering or the rate of erosion by water, ice, wind, or vegetation. Examples of variables to test could include angle of slope in the downhill movement of water, amount of vegetation, speed of wind, relative rate of deposition, cycles of freezing and thawing of water, cycles of heating and cooling, and volume of water flow. Assessment is limited to a single form of weathering or erosion.
