What educators are saying

I used these to put in my block center when we were doing buildings unit. My students loved using these.
My students loved the challenge of creating the different building structures and they would be so proud of their accomplishments they would ask me to take a picture of their creation to show their mom and dad. Thank you for sharing!

Description

Ideal block center activity with wooden blocks to improve fine-motor development, problem solving and STEM skills. There are 15 construction task cards included in this set and children will love the challenge of building the various items: towers, bridges, robot, car, train, rocket etc. These cards are to be used alongside standard colored wooden blocks as shown in the pictures. THIS PRODUCT IS PART OF A MONEY SAVING BUNDLE.

This would make an ideal independent activity station or morning center for a Pre-School or Kindergarten class. There are varying levels of difficulty which students can select from. Alternatively, they could work alongside an adult to work on a more challenging building task.

This is an excellent task to develop:

· Fine-motor skills

· Problem solving and reasoning skills

· Hand-eye co-ordination

· Language development

· Mathematical understanding – geometry, counting, size, space etc.

· STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)

Due to popular demand of this original set, I have created 6 more sets:

Set 1, Set 2, Set 3, Set 4, Set 5 & Set 6.

In addition, you can purchase a BUNDLE of all 7 sets which includes 105 cards to keep your students entertained in the block center all year long!!!

You may also like to view an alternate version where children build with the wooden blocks and then count and write how many of each 3D shape they have used.

In addition, I have created cards for NATURAL Wooden Blocks. There are 3 levels: BASIC, INTERMEDIATE, CHALLENGING or a BUNDLE of all 3 sets.

and you will love my new Lincoln Logs Building Cards:

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
Count to answer “how many?” questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1-20, count out that many objects.
Identify whether the number of objects in one group is greater than, less than, or equal to the number of objects in another group, e.g., by using matching and counting strategies.
