Description
**COVID-19 Distance/Online Learning Note**
This project was designed to keep kids interested and learning from the EoC to the End of the Year. It can easily fill in the gaps while your school is closed for COVID-19. It covers the 5 major reporting categories in Biology. Your kids will enjoy doing this project and it requires virtually no effort from you. *This project is set to run for 8-10 block (90 minute) days and each component would work for at home learning. All you need to do is modify the in-person presentation to a Google Slides/Docs presentation that can be submitted via your Google Classroom. DONE! This is all you need for weeks of hassle-free and fun curriculum! (Included: 5 daily grades, 1 lab grade, 1-2 test grades)
Zombie Apocalypse All-In-One End of the Year Biology Project Information:
Keeping the students interested after the Biology EoC or STAAR is no easy task, but Zombie Apocalypse is so fun they won’t even know they are learning!
This is an all-in-one student-led end of the year project which means you are nothing more than a guide on the side for the rest of the school year! You deserve a break after working so hard to prepare them for the EoC/STAAR test! This bundle ensures you are DONE with curriculum planning the rest of the year.
The Zombie Apocalypse Project challenges your students to create a disease to mimic the symptoms of a typical Zombie Apocalypse. They also have to pick a Ground Zero (and learn about the ecosystem/food web there) and make predictions about the spread of their disease. It offers a LOT of choice on how the students can earn their points and lets their creativity shine! I love to see what my students do with this project each year!
If your school allows a project in place of a semester final, you can even use this project presentation as their semester final. Each lesson is designed for a 90 minute block schedule. You can easily adapt this project to fit shorter periods by cutting each lesson in half (Day 1 would be day 1 and 2). Each day the students are tasked with an individual objective (can be taken for a daily or lab grade) and a group objective to help them complete their project. You also have the option of including the choice points for an additional test grade. I highly recommend this because the kids absolutely LOVE doing their choice items and showing them off to the class.
All assignments are in Word format for easy editing and customization.
NOTE: I always buy inexpensive Zombie Party decorations and decorate my hallway. We also have a Zombie Selfie Station where the kids can take pictures and post them. The kids look forward to Zombie Apocalypse every year!
