TEACHING EXPERIENCE

My experience working with children in a school setting began in 2003. I worked as an employee for an afterschool program in a nearby school district. I was responsible for tutoring students ranging in age from Pre-K - Grade 8. In the following years, while attending college for Elementary Education, I was able to head one of these afterschool programs in our area’s. During this time, I wrote activity plans, educational units, and created crafts for the kiddos in my care. It was a great experience! I subbed for two years and during this time, I held a couple of full-time sub positions, as well as a co-teaching position at a nearby district. I also worked for a Teen Outreach program that allowed me to go into the homes of children and teens that were in need of a positive mentor. I really grew to appreciate my time doing this. It allowed me to see into the homes of some of our most needy children. To this day, I am so grateful for this experience. Eventually, I was hired as a first grade teacher and then found myself in fifth grade after two years of being in the district that hired me. I absolutely LOVED teaching, but I made the VERY difficult decision to leave the classroom in 2022. After a great deal of stress trying to balance working as a teacher full-time, being a successful and motivated business owner, being a mommy to three, a wife, taking care of my home, and all of the other day-to-day tasks, my mental health was suffering. Stress and anxiety were not good for me or for my family. So now, my contribution to education comes solely from my ability to create resources that bless teachers and their students. I am METICULOUS in everything that I create, and take this role very seriously. Education is a huge part of who I am, and I know that teachers need help. Creating quality resources is my specialty, and I'm proud of that.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I always loved hands-on education. I loved innovative thinking and integrating technology into my classroom. I wanted to do whatever I could do to have my students enjoy coming to school! Learning really can be fun and it's was always my personal mission to show my students just that. I really enjoy speaking to other teachers and seeing what works and doesn't work for them as well. There is always so much to learn.
