TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been an elementary school teacher for the past 9 years. I have taught 1st grade self-contained, 4th and 5th-grade reading, where I found my passion. Teaching in Title I schools has given me a better idea for resources that can help struggling readers to excel. I tutor reading/writing students throughout the school year and during the summertime.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love teaching reading and writing, and showing kids that reading can be fun and entertaining. I enjoy talking to students about books they are reading and how books influence them.

I am a graduate of Texas State University at San Marcos and began teaching in Cypress Texas. I have 9 years of teaching experience in Cypress Fairbanks ISD, which is also the same district I attended as a child.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl and used to play school growing up. I have always loved reading and so becoming a reading teacher is such a fun thing to do for me.I love reading new books and sharing them with my students.
