Welcome to A Primary Blend! For the past several years, I have been teaching and creating art. Before I was a classroom teacher, I completed art school at the post secondary level, taught art lessons, and even created an art summer camp for kids. When I began classroom teaching, I continued to find ways to combine my passions for visual art and teaching. I realized that one way to do this is by creating my own classroom resources. Desiring to share teaching tools and tips that have been successful in my own classroom, I decided to start my own Teachers Pay Teachers store and social media platform, called A Primary Blend. I hope this may be a space for you to find teaching collaboration, inspiration, and tips!
Growth mindset is at the core of my teaching philosophy. Students in my classroom are encouraged to pursue challenges, see the value in mistakes, and understand that effort and growth are connected. It may feel easy to teach these concepts, but we can all admit that it is often more difficult to accept them into our own personal lives. When I started to resist the inner self critic and allowed myself to adopt a growth mindset into my life, it gave space for A Primary Blend to blossom.
Graduated post secondary school with bachelors degrees in Fine Arts & Education with several scholarships and great distinction.
University of Regina - Fine Arts & Education
I am looking forward to joining the Teachers Pay Teachers community and starting my very own store. Ready to start creating!
