Read to the class “Edgar Potato” ,a personification of a potato by Don Oickle. If you haven’t read it yet , this is a delightful picture book, appropriate for grades k-4. This story tells about Edgar, a Prince Edward Island potato, who is extremely large and considered a “outcast” by the other potatoes due to his size. “Edgar Potato” has sort of an “Ugly Duckling” theme . In this allegory there’s the realization of self-worth, tolerance (or the lack of it) resilience, and the fact that everyone
