This is a fun activity for Deaf Awareness Week. Not only does it challenge your students to use their ASL knowledge to communicate with those around them, but it also allows others to learn how to communicate using new methods. Your students might be frustrated at first, but most students can find ways to communicate (especially with technology). Label the earth with ASL!! Early Geography for Young Kids
I made this for part of my lesson on the earth! My students have limited language so I kept this activity focused on three vocabulary words: earth, land, and water! I teach DHH early education, so having the ASL signs instead of the words was super beneficial! For older kids this can easily be an independent activity or even homework for review!
