What educators are saying

This is an awesome resource. We use it as a review of the 5 themes since they learn about this in 6th grade at our school. Using it as a jigsaw activity is much more engaging than the regular sit and get lesson.
A very useful resource for my students (and myself). It was easily read and understood and helped my students understand the concepts.

Description

In this Five Themes of Geography stations and student activity, students analyze the five themes of geography (location, place, human-environment interaction, movement, and region) to understand how geographers study the world!

This best-selling geography resource is included in the massive All Things Geography Bundle, as well as the American or the World History PLUS Curriculum!

This lesson begins with students doing an introductory reading and activity on the five themes of geography. Then, students navigate between five stations as they learn how the five themes (location, place, movement, interaction, region) work together to create the study of geography. Don't like station work? Don't worry - you can easily have students work individually, in pairs, as a class, or assign as homework! Students complete the essential details on the included graphic organizer as they complete each station!

Once finished, students complete a color-coded letter writing activity to compile everything they have learned about the 5 themes of geography!

This resource includes a paper in-class version and a 1:1 Google compatible version to be used in conjunction with Google Classroom. Just follow the included instructions for how to access the Google version, then share the resource through Google or assign via Google Classroom. This will allow students to type directly into the document!
