7th Grade Math Test Prep ~ End of Year 7th Grade Math Review ~ Back to School Math Review Game for 8th Grade
Looking for an effective way to review some of the main concepts from 7th grade math with your students? This mini bundle consisting of 2 resources - a math review packet and a game show review game - makes 7th grade math review a breeze!
The concepts covered in the packet and game are the same, making them perfect complements for each other. Have your students complete the math packet independently and then play the game show as a class to review all the skills from the packet! These resources are a great way to prepare students for state testing, EOY tests, or to prepare for 8th grade math (or pre-algebra). You could even have the students complete the packet as a summer math packet and then use the game show as an August/September review of the concepts they practiced over the summer.
The math review packet covers:
- all four operations with integers (including order of operations problems with integers)
- all four operations with rational numbers (positive and negative decimals, fractions, and mixed numbers)
- solving one- and two-step equations
- solving proportions and percent problems
- area, perimeter, circumference, surface area, and volume
The packet contains 100 questions for the students to solve, as well as worked-out examples and descriptions of how to solve the various types of problems. An answer key is also included.
The game show features 25 questions of varying difficulty levels spanning 5 different category topics:
- integer operations
- rational number operations
- equations
- proportion & percent
- geometry
(More specifically the game covers all 4 operations with integers, decimals (positive & negative), & fractions & mixed numbers (positive & negative), solving one-step equations and two-step equations, solving proportions, solving problems involving percent, area of 2D figures, volume of rectangular prism, & surface area of a cylinder).
In this Jeopardy style game show, each topic has a question worth 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 points. (Harder questions are worth more). You can play with 2, 3, 4, or 5 teams or play without teams if you do not want to play competitively.
