A Year of Interactive Read Aloud - Reading Comprehension Bundle for K, 1st grade

All our Year of Kindergarten and First Grade Read Aloud Lessons are the perfect read aloud activities to focus on reading comprehension skills during the year. This K-1 bundle includes read aloud activities for 47 engaging books.

You can support your students while covering reading comprehension standards. The books and accompanying activities are great for teaching important Kinder and 1st grade reading comprehension skills.

How do our read aloud lessons work?

Each week's lessons focus on one book and will guide you through 3-5 days of reading lessons. Our detailed lesson plans include answer keys and samples. They are so easy to follow, you could even leave them for a substitute.

Each day, students will have a different purpose for revisiting and talking about the text. Speaking and listening are at the heart of interactive reading, therefore, they are incorporated throughout the lesson as students talk about the text and answer comprehension questions in a whole group or with partners. After reading, revisiting, and discussing the text each day, students complete a response to text activity. At the end of the week, students work on a writing prompt and craftivity.
