Description

Get your students engaged in dissecting question types and justifying their answer choices in preparation for the AP Language exam.

What:

This activity (1 - 2 class periods) engages students in a "test maker" simulation as students problem solve a multiple choice READING question set and write their reasoning to prove answers correct and incorrect.

HOW: Student teams can work through each of the 7 problems collaboratively, or you can create a Jigsaw where each home team takes 1 "expert" problem to peer teach problem solving in a jigsaw across 7 teams/7 questions.

Why it works: This is a great format for getting students to dig deep into the WHY behind question types and answer choices as well as flipping the script on multiple choice practice by having students engage as test makers.
