In this highly engaging unit, students investigate the Age of Antebellum Reform by focusing on TWELVE reformers and their impact on history. Students navigate to learn the impact of Frederick Douglass, William Lloyd Garrison, Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Henry David Thoreau, Sojourner Truth, Dorothea Dix, Amelia Bloomer, Sylvester Graham, the Grimke Sisters, John Brown, and Horace Mann on American History. Students read engaging text on each reformer, comprehend primary source text each was known for, and record relevant information on a graphic organizer to understand their impact in history.
