What educators are saying

My students loved this resource! It was different enough to catch their attention, but they really had to use their knowledge to create accurate menus. Thank you!
This resource consolidated and helped review what we had learned about Paleolithic and Neolithic diets. My students were up for the challenge this resource provided. After group discussions and clarification of some points, the students eagerly decided what dishes would be on their menu.

Description

In this Agricultural Revolution and Early Man menu activity, students learn about the diets of Paleolithic and Neolithic humans, as well as the Agricultural Revolution and how it changed everyday society.

Students read an engaging two-page text/graphic organizer regarding the food, lifestyle, and eating habits of Paleolithic and Neolithic humans, then answer an overarching question focused on the change brought on by the Agricultural Revolution. Students then analyze a variety of fictional dinner entrees and determine if they would have been eaten in the Paleolithic Era or Neolithic Era (based on the ingredients). To conclude, students launch a restaurant and their goal is to design their dinner menu. Students create a mock dinner menu where they only serve foods and dishes from the Neolithic Era.

This early man lesson is included in my Early Man and Neanderthal Bundle located here!
