Description
This is a BUNDLE of French Morning Messages (appropriate for K-2), with a total of 10 MONTHS of messages (that's a whole school year, folks)! Perfect for Kindergarten, Grade 1 and Grade 2 French language learners.
Each month contains:
- 1 .pdf file of messages (non-editable)
- 1 PowerPoint presentation (.pptx) of messages (editable text and tables)
- 1 Microsoft Word file (.docx) of messages (editable text and tables)
This set of Morning Messages is an integral component of the literacy program in my Kindergarten classroom (but can be used or altered for up to Grade 2 French). It allows me to introduce and engage my students in a variety of Shared Reading, Shared Writing and Oral Language lessons throughout the month of September. It also helps me to plan out my daily routine quickly and helps me to ensure that I'm touching on the important skills outlined in my curriculum and long range plans. They are also a great resource for any support staff or supply teachers who work in your classroom!
Each month covers a wide range of skills, including:
- Oral language activities
- Letter names and sounds
- Introduction of sound blends (-on, -ch, -eau, -in, etc.)
- Introduction of frequently used French words and phrases, such as "Je vois", "J'aime", "le", "la", "un", "une", "il" and "elle"
- Beginning counting skills
- Letter formation
- Theme-based discussions (e.g. Remembrance/Veterans Day, Holidays, Winter, St. Patrick's Day, March Break, Spring, Earth Day, healthy eating)
- Concepts of print (letters vs. words vs. sentences)
