What educators are saying

My students have been very engaged in this unit. I added a few more Grimm's stories. We have also turned our Disney version into a story book to read to younger students!

Description

The Middle Ages were a dark and dangerous time for Europeans, so what better way to explore this than through children’s stories from the time period! Included are two short fables from the Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales and Fables. The first is “The Vagabonds”, and the second is “The Death of the Hen”. With each of these stories there are ELA and Social Studies comprehension questions for students to complete and discuss.

Included is also two separate extension activities that students can choose to do. The first choice is to read the Grimm’s version of their favorite fairy tale with some follow-up work, and the second choice to select a new story to explore. These fairy tales can be easily found online if you do not have a class set of the Grimm’s Tales.
