Catherine the Great | Did she represent the Age of Absolutism? | Primary Source!

This resource is included in the Age of Absolutism Unit Bundle located here!

In this primary-source based activity on Catherine the Great, students interpret from Catherine's proposal for a new legal code in Russia and decide if she better fits the tyranny associated with the Age of Absolutism or a republic system based more about the protection of individual liberties. Students translate several of the legal codes, evaluate where each places Catherine the Great on the included spectrum, and complete as final writing prompt.

As always a teacher key is included, as well as a Google 1:1 version designed for distance learning!
