    Description

Cell Cycle, Mitosis & Meiosis PowerPoints, Graphic Organizers & Word Wall Sheets for students comes in a worksheet style notes or foldable style notes for interactive notebooks. Both styles complement distance, hybrid, and traditional learning. The resource can be printed on paper or filled out digitally online. The digital worksheet is great for online platforms such as Google Classroom, Schoology, or others. The digital fillable pdf form can be filled out using Adobe Acrobat, Lumen, Kami, or other free pdf-editing applications. The PowerPoints are aligned to the guided notes and the word wall coloring sheets reflect the vocabulary words for the bundle.

Cell Cycle and Mitosis PowerPoint and Foldable:

The PowerPoint covers cell cycle, G0, G1, S, G2, and mitosis. There are slides for chromosomes, how mitosis is the driving force behind growth, development, regeneration, and asexual reproduction. The PowerPoint also presents cancer and other diseases caused by disrupted cell cycles.

The foldable covers cell cycle, G0, G1, S, G2, and mitosis in both animal and plant cells. There are note-taking areas for how mitosis is the driving force behind growth, development, regeneration, and asexual reproduction. The foldable also covers tumors both benign and malignant (cancer).

    Meiosis PowerPoint and Foldable:

This PowerPoint and graphic organizer fold-out foldable can be taught together. Students will have a short review of mitosis and cover vocabulary specific to meiosis.

Next, the students go over crossing-over using terms such as sister chromatids, homologous chromosomes, synapsis, tetrad, chiasmata. If you teach AP Biology it is great for review.

The detailed meiotic steps also discuss what is happening with the quantity of genetic material.

Both foldables have four files. Two files are for the students. One is modified with fill in the blank style notes to accommodate students with IEPs of handwriting challenges. A normal teacher key with red ink and one with black ink for students who require a copy of their teacher's notes.

    WORD WALL COLORING SHEETS

Coloring pages have recently become a huge hit all over the world. In my new series of word wall coloring pages, you can bring the excitement of coloring into your middle school and high school science classrooms.

This set includes the words: Cell cycle, cell checkpoints, mitosis, meiosis, chromosomes, synapsis, crossing over, prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase, cytokinesis, malignant tumor, benign tumor, diploid, haploid, interphase, gametes.

    NGSSHS-LS1-2
Develop and use a model to illustrate the hierarchical organization of interacting systems that provide specific functions within multicellular organisms. Emphasis is on functions at the organism system level such as nutrient uptake, water delivery, and organism movement in response to neural stimuli. An example of an interacting system could be an artery depending on the proper function of elastic tissue and smooth muscle to regulate and deliver the proper amount of blood within the circulatory system. Assessment does not include interactions and functions at the molecular or chemical reaction level.
    NGSSHS-LS1-4
Use a model to illustrate the role of cellular division (mitosis) and differentiation in producing and maintaining complex organisms. Assessment does not include specific gene control mechanisms or rote memorization of the steps of mitosis.
