Description
Read a court case to determine which student is guilty of being insensitive.
Students will read a court case to the class, and the class will have to reach a verdict from the evidence that is presented -- Which student is insensitive? This is a fun way to have students find evidence to support their answer.
I have included:
1.) A script (3.5 pages) & a highlighted script for each role.
2.) Name tags for students (judge, sheriff, student 1, student 2, witness 1, witness 2)
3.) A worksheet for students to reach a verdict
4.) A role sheet for the teacher to fill out before the lesson.
It may be less confusing to read the script with students' real names, so I like to choose students for the role before the lesson and fill in the script with names. It is more time consuming but more beneficial.
My students love this activity! They are engaged in the lesson and have fun reaching a verdict.
