Description
This is by far my favorite writing piece of the year, and I can say the same for my third grade students. Students are told that there's a mouse that lives in their school, but his family may not have enough to eat while the kids are away on Holiday break! So, Chris Mouse decides to travel around the world to find some new foods to bring back to his family. Along the way, he learns about each of the countries and the holiday celebrations each celebrates.
The following items are included:
*Directions for students
*Graphic Organizer to help students research and find the information they need for their stories.
*Informational pages about Germany, Spain, Poland, and Australia.
*Post-it graphic organizer.
*Writing paper for final copy writing.
*Mouse paper topper for final project. This turns this writing project into a great craftivity for students, and a perfect project to display in the hallway.
FYI:
This is a project that could probably be done with just the informational pages about each of the countries provided, however, I would highly suggest turning this into a research project for students. It means a lot more when the students find the information themselves, and the skills the students obtain from this research piece means much more than simply grabbing it from the articles.
This truly is a print and go writing packet. Everything you need is included here to complete this writing project with students. :)
