Christmas Cross Curriculum Project
This project will engage your students and provide them with valuable learning experiences leading up to the end of term break.
Students are required to design a workshop for Santa, encompassing a range of numeracy and literacy activities.
This inquiry-based project is perfect for independent learning and will keep your students busy in the lead up to the silly season.
Activities include:
- Create a name, logo, and floor plan for Santa's workshop (design and creativity).
- Design the front of Santa's workshop (design and creativity).
- Write five reasons to convince the bank to give you a loan to build the workshop (persuasive writing).
- Design a sign for the front of the workshop (design and creativity).
- Design a uniform for the elves in the workshop (design and creativity).
- Graph the toys (data and graphing).
- Calculate the cost of the toys (money, four processes).
- Describe your favourite Christmas memory (narrative writing).
- Draw the paddocks for the reindeer (measurement, area, and perimeter).
- Decorate the baubles on the tree for the workshop (fractions).
Many of these activities relate to real life and will enable your students to make connections with the world as they work.
