Description
Students will complete an 11 item graphic organizer with 4 questions to compare and contrast the Revolutionary War and French Revolution. They will then read, analyze, and compare and contrast each country's national anthem--the Star Spangled Banner and La Marseillaise--by answering 14 questions. Lastly, they will analyze 10 images according to 2 prompts and 3 extension tasks. The answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub! See the preview for a closer look!
Sample questions include:
--Which revolution made more of an impact on the world at the time? Explain your opinion.
--Describe what it would have meant to the Americans fighting to see, “that our flag was still there.”
--Using evidence from the text as support, identify how F. S. Key might feel about his country.
--In your own words, what has the blood done in the 3rd stanza?
--Who was behind the “tyranny” and why were citizens encouraged to grab their weapons?
--Compare and contrast the tone and emotion evoked from each anthem.
