What educators are saying

This was a fun activity for our Donut Day. It was a little hard for them at the beginning of the year but that was poor planning on my part!
My students loved this resource! They were engaged the whole time. It was easy to prep and not much was required to add it to my lesson. The passage is the same as the one in the art donut resource.

Description

I wrote this article about DONUTS for my kids for National Donut Day, but you can definitely use it at any point during the school year, because, who doesn't love donuts???

I’ve been working with my kids on close reading, so the color by comprehension on the right side bar of each page helps them with finding specific evidence in the text to help them comprehend.

Students are asked to:

Circle in red = Unknown words

Underline in green = Facts about the history of the donut.

Underline in blue = What donuts are called in other countries.

Circle in purple = Important dates.

Included are the following:

*An article about Donuts/doughnuts, with information about donuts from around the world.

*Crossword Puzzle

*Word Search

*Design a Donut activity!

Enjoy!
