Description

This game consists of up to 30 questions for a friendly classroom game of connect 4. This game is easily adapted to other topics as well. (You can easily change this to simplifying monomials and polynomials!)

I divide the class into two teams. I display the board. Then ask a person from the red team to pick a number. Once picked, everyone must answer the question during an allotted time amount. Comparing answers is allowed as long as it's not copying...but explaining!

Next, I randomly pick a person from the red team to come to the board and answer the question.

Note: If this person is not ready to go to the board, then black team has the chance to go to the board. And Black team is allowed the next turn as well! (This keeps students on task during the time allotted for working on the problems).

If red team player goes to the board and writes the correct answer, then he/she is allowed to move the checker anywhere on the board, but pulling the checker to the bottom; if the red team does not get the correct answer, the black team is allowed one chance to answer from randomly selected student. (Use Popsicle sticks or other method for randomly selecting students or download my free notebook file for student randomization pick).

Now it's Black Teams turn!

This game is really easy to follow and fun for all students.
