Description

My students were struggling a bit with converting measurement, so I decided to make them a nice little flip book which included length, capacity, and mass. Students first cut the overlapping pages together and then staple the top. Easy for the kids, and easy for you!

Included are:

* 2 flip books with directions for students (both metric and customary).

*2 conversion circles for student math notebooks (these pages help students to understand when to multiply or divide when converting length)

*7 measurement conversion worksheets (both customary and metric)

*8 real-world conversion task cards

*Answer keys for all of the pages.

My students loved making the flip books, and I can honestly say this was a perfect way for my students to refer back when they were solving conversion problems.

Tell and write time to the nearest minute and measure time intervals in minutes. Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes, e.g., by representing the problem on a number line diagram.
Know relative sizes of measurement units within one system of units including km, m, cm; kg, g; lb, oz.; l, ml; hr, min, sec. Within a single system of measurement, express measurements in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit. Record measurement equivalents in a two-column table. For example, know that 1 ft is 12 times as long as 1 in. Express the length of a 4 ft snake as 48 in. Generate a conversion table for feet and inches listing the number pairs (1, 12), (2, 24), (3, 36),...
Convert among different-sized standard measurement units within a given measurement system (e.g., convert 5 cm to 0.05 m), and use these conversions in solving multi-step, real world problems.
