Description

The Coronavirus is all the talk right now and kids have questions! This pack discusses multiple facets of the virus, epidemics, and the impacts on both humans and the the global economy. This pack also has students discussing after each of the articles and infographics they read.

***NOW includes AUDIO TEXTS for each of the articles! Students can scan the QR code OR you can share the links with students.

You can use this over the course of a 2 hour period or for shorter time periods over a 4 day period. I would suggest breaking this up for students over 4 days.

Day 1- What is the Coronavirus?
Students read an article and then use a discussion protocol that gets all students involved in a new and engaging way.

Day 2- How to prevent the Coronavirus and other viruses?

Students read an article and an infographic and then discuss again using a different discussion protocol that engages students and gets everyone involved.

Day 3- Global impacts of new viruses.

Students discuss the local, national, and global impacts of a new virus. They read an article and then have conversations using the included question task cards.

Day 4- To wrap things up, there will be a final discussion. Directions and questions are included in this packet, including final writing pages.

Again, this can be used over the course of 4 days or in a shorter time frame. Use this in whichever way makes sense for your class and your kids!

Happy teaching!
