Description

Get ready to kick off Back to School with a fun and engaging escape room activity. Your new students will love it and it will lay the foundation for a year of fun engaging and interactive learning. This Back to School Escape Room is designed to help your students get to know each other, develop teamwork, and build classroom community. It's a bonus that you get to dive into beginning of the year rules and expectations as well as a bit of math and reading too! The clues are a mix of math word problems, rhyme riddles, a back-to-school crossword puzzle, as well as a couple of simple research-based tasks.

This LOW PREP Digital Escape Room activity is perfect for the beginning of the school year. There are a few clues to print or share in Google Slides for each group or pair of students. You will also share the Google Form Digital Lockbox that is included with the pack. In order for students to break INTO the school year, students need to solve the clues and correctly place them in the Form. This digital lockbox can be shared with students in Google Classroom or with the link provided in your download. I would suggest students have one device per group or one per pair of students to make this much easier to manage.

Digital Back to School Escape Room Activity includes:

  • PDF with Link to Digital Escape Room
  • Link to Digital Clues
  • Instructions for how to access and share with students
  • Printable Clues

I really love using this at the beginning of the year to guide us on teamwork and discussion/disagreements and how to handle it. The students really enjoy it!

⭐ This was great as a beginning of the year activity. My students loved it and it was great to see them work together. Thank you!

⭐ I used this resource as an end of term fun afternoon. The Students loved the idea and I loved seeing them work co-operatively in teams. The resource is easy to follow and print the relevant clues for the students. It was set at the right level for my grade 4's with some groups needing a few hints to keep up, but most were able to work through all the clues. Great Resource, Thank you Mr Mault's Marketplace.
