Sample story:
“MOM! She took my wand!” Ethan yelled. She didn’t answer. He was sure that no one cared that his baby sister had his favorite toy. Olivia always ruined everything,he thought. Ethan picked out that Harry Potter wand himself. Well, the wand picked him as the story goes. His family couldn’t go to the amusement park where that actually happens, but they pretended a whole scene just like that last weekend in the toy store for his birthday. Olivia, his sister, was only two-years-old, and she picked a stupid toy that Ethan didn’t care about at all. He couldn’t even remember what it was.
But now she was hiding with HIS wand. Suddenly, Ethan could hear the tap, tap, tap of his uncle’s walk approaching. The cane Uncle Tim used always made that clicking sound, followed by a quiet creak. Sometimes, Ethan would stop what he was doing and listen for the creaking sound in the hall. It was fun to imagine all kinds of things it could be. This week, Ethan would ready his wand toward the doorway, and Uncle Tim would pretend to be turned into something like a frog when Ethan cast a spell at him. They were having a great time making up magical stories!
This time, however, there was no creak. Ethan froze in his room and listened even more closely. He heard only a very soft click, click, click until suddenly, around the doorway appeared Olivia! She was using his wand like a cane, pretending to be their Uncle Tim! Ethan and Olivia smiled at each other in surprise, and then he pretended to cast a spell on her as she dropped the wand, turned into a pretend frog, and joyfully hopped away!
