Design Your Own Planet Project: Independent Study/(GT) with Digital Version

This print-and-go unit gives students the opportunity to learn about planets, moons, and stars. Students will research what makes a planet, design their own planet, develop a 3D model, present what they have learned, then reflect on their learning.

Unit Structure: The unit is designed with a cover page for easy photocopying as a workbook style unit. The unit is “print and go”. All workspace is included in the packet. Directions are included for a hands-on project that involves making a 3D model of their planet. There are several websites listed for students to conduct their own research. The final page lists educational websites that students can visit to further their learning on this topic.

This project can be used on a daily or intermittent basis, to suit the needs of your class. It can be used class-wide, or for individual students that may benefit from enrichment opportunities.
