Drawing Conclusions Activity
- Zip
Description
This activity is designed to teach the skill “Drawing Conclusions”. This is best used to introduce the skill, use as a station, or as an intervention. There are differentiated options and this activity can be used with grades 3-5, depending on your group and levels.
2 work mats/ graphic organizers
2 sets of task cards (read below for description)
Photo Cards
worksheets (same passages as the task cards)
poster
sentence frame poster
Answer mats: This bundle includes two answer mats/ graphic organizers. I double side mine and laminate them so I can easily reuse for differentiating lessons. One of the work mats goes with the task cards that are multiple choice. Students can use the multiple choice answer board to pick their answer, and then back that up with 2 clues. {seen in thumbnail}. The other work mat also asks for 2 clues to back up the conclusion but, instead of there being a multiple choice board, it includes space to write a sentence along with a sentence frame.
Task cards: This bundle includes 2 sets of 8 task cards. One of the sets gives multiple choice answer options, the other set is the same questions, but it is open ended. I laminate both sets so that I can easily differentiate between my groups when support is needed.
Photo cards
Key included for all task cards!
To make the multiple choice board:
Print (double sided if can)
Laminate
Cut out letter pieces
attach velcro to mat and letter pieces
Enjoy!
