Description
50 printable puzzles to use as differentiated math stations, morning work, emergency sub plan lesson activities, or fast finisher challenges throughout the year as you reach different concepts. These printable math review pages for 4th, 5th, and 6th Grade can also be used as warm ups, extension activities, independent practice, and homework. They are engaging alternatives to standard worksheets. PDF format or use some of them digitally with Easel.
This BUNDLE includes 7 packets (50 puzzles and answer keys):
- Puzzles can be completed individually or in pairs / groups.
- Print and copy puzzles as required.
- Answer keys can be printed for students to self-check or you could display them on the screen.
- To cut down on printing you could laminate puzzles after printing to use again and again.
EASEL ACTIVITIES: For 5 of the packets (hidden word puzzles), you can now assign to your students whichever pages you want on Google Classroom or another LMS, using Easel. Digital versions of these 5 have already been set up for you to use, with students being able to circle the letters using the pen tool and type into the answer boxes. The answer keys have been removed in these digital versions. You can modify the digital versions to meet the needs of your students. Although you can't edit the original content, you can whiteout things you don't want and add things like your own instructions or text boxes. Students can then complete the work on their device and return it to you.
There’s plenty of differentiation to suit different abilities within the same class and some puzzles may suit younger or older students too. If you move between grades or have students of varying ability and experience, this bundle will be especially useful. 5 of the 7 packets are Hidden Word / Spot the Mistakes Puzzles where students spot the mistakes (or, in some cases, the numbers that don’t match certain criteria) and use the associated letters to form a word linked to the math concept being reviewed. On some puzzles there’s a further challenge question or task at the bottom of the page, linked to the hidden word. Students often forget or avoid checking their own work for errors so it’s great to get them carefully checking the calculations in these puzzles. Spotting common errors may help them remember to check their own work and help them avoid common errors themselves.
The other 2 packets (Place Value and Mental Math) are Crossnumber Puzzles, a number version of crosswords.
