What educators are saying

I used this with my pre-algebra classes the Friday before Easter. It was challenging for them but they enjoyed it.
My students enjoyed doing this activity the day before break. It was a way to keep them engaged, but have low stress day.

    Description

Looking for no prep Easter activities to challenge your middle school math class this March or April? This holiday mini bundle is sure to be a hit with your students!

This download includes my Easter Logic Puzzle for Middle School and my Easter Picture Puzzlers Activity for Middle School. Both of the included resources are meant to challenge students while incorporating the fun of the holiday into math class!

The logic puzzle is a traditional grid-style logic puzzle has students match 5 children's first and last names, the color of the first Easter egg they found, location where they found their egg, and treat inside their egg. Students are given 10 clues to help them solve the puzzle.

The picture puzzlers activity features 3 picture logic puzzles which each require students to use 3 picture equations to find the values of each of the pictures. The puzzles can be solved using systems of 3 equations (for older students) or guess and check and logic and deductive reasoning (for younger students). Once students solve the three puzzles, there are 7 order of operations problems (no exponents) for students to complete using the values they found in the puzzles. The 7 order of operations problems will lead them to the answer of an Easter riddle.

These activities are great critical thinking and reasoning exercises for students and are a fantastic way to keep students engaged, while still working, around Easter or Spring Break!
