This bundle includes enough roles (substantial roles) for your whole class. These Reader's Theater scripts are aimed at students in third grade, late grade two, or early fourth (fluency practice).
The Veggie Thief has four parts (Rabbit, Skunk, Narrator One, Narrator Two) and includes themes of friendship, forgiveness, community gardens, and cooking!
Performance time: 5 minutes.
Included in the download are:
- the script in pdf and Google Slides (TPT digital activity)
- character cards (nametags)
- titles (to put on your report covers or duotangs)
- a simple student Glossary (kids enjoy reading and discussing this together)
*All materials come in black and white, with some pages also available in color.
Reader's theater is an excellent way to improve reading fluency and develop vocab. I love that it is student centered! If you want to get even more adventurous, please check out my set of classroom PLAYS for grades two - three.

A Bit About Me
I am a part time writer. I especially enjoy writing for children. In addition to writing scripts and plays for my students, I have written books for the Scholastic Education Literacy series: Literacy Place for the Early Years, including a 3rd grade big book, pattern books, and an early chapter book.
I also enjoy creating teaching resources that teach children how to write and, more importantly, foster a love of writing. I am a strong believer in using writing models, scaffolding, and providing writing challenges for those who need it.
Thank you for reading this. Enjoy your Reader's Theater!
