Description

Looking for a fun, no-prep way to review figurative language with your students? This unique claw machine game is sure to be a hit with your classes as you review similes, metaphors, idioms, hyperboles, onomatopoeia, personification, and alliteration!

This comprehensive review of figurative language features 25 questions of varying difficulty levels spanning 5 different category topics:

- definitions

- simile or metaphor

- idiom or hyperbole

- onomatopoeia or personification

- miscellaneous

Most questions feature an example sentence and ask students to name the type of figurative language shown in the example. Some definition questions and questions that ask students to explain the meaning of a given figurative language example are included, as well. This game is a great way to review after a unit on figurative language, or it could be used as a test prep activity for before standardized or state tests. It also would be a fun end of the year review game for your ELA class!
