WHY make these paintings, you ask? Why not, I ask? November is a time of giving thanks, and I, for one, am thankful we can support children by providing art lessons like this for them.
Lessons like this push our students—especially these days in such a technology-rich world. This art lesson will push your students to think of how a painting "could" look vs. how a painting "should" look. If you asked your students to draw and paint a piece of pumpkin pie, you'd most likely get a bunch of orange-looking artworks.
Well, not today, my friends—not today!
Instead, you and your students will have fun with color, shapes, and patterns as you create these Pop Art paintings. If you aren't ready to take on paint, you can easily adapt this lesson. Substitute paint with crayons, colored pencils, or markers.
Your students will work on problem-solving, fine motor skills, sequencing, and so much more!
