    French Numbers Games BUNDLE

French Numbers BUNDLE (Presentation, Worksheets, Puzzles)

All these resources are also included in this Beginner French Full Year MEGA BUNDLE (56 Packets).

    PRESENTATION:

    • Teaching slides break down the numbers into small chunks of ten at a time so teachers can use whatever part of the presentation suits the needs of their students.
    • 1-100 covered in detail, with larger numbers (up to millions) now added too
    • Recap slides with tables of numbers and slides with numbers in French and English for students to translate, with answers appearing on the click of the mouse.
    • There are slides with numbers in digit format to play a 'splat' game or 'Frappez les Nombres!' where the teacher calls out a French number and children compete in threes to hit the number on the whiteboard (if you're not using a touchscreen).
    • Mental Math calculations
    • 8 rounds of interactive Hexagons game, where teams compete to make a trail across the screen by calling out French numbers. Rounds for 0-40, 0-100, and 0-1000. Versions with numbers in digit format and also with French words.
    • 12 rounds of interactive Reveal the Picture game, where teams must say numbers in French to remove boxes from the grid, revealing images with numbers located somewhere within them. The last four rounds feature 3-digit numbers for a greater challenge.
    • Slides for a bingo game on numbers from 60 to 100. Students can make their own grid and choose numbers. Shuffle the slides before playing subsequent games.

    WORKSHEETS:

10 pages of activities: 3 double-sided worksheets (0-40 version / 0-60 version / 0-100 version). Includes number sequences and mental math work. There are also 2 sheets of anagrams (0-40 and 0-100) and 2 Hidden Word / Find the Mistakes puzzles (0-40 / 0-100), where students must discover which French number words have been matched incorrectly with digit versions and used the letters beside these to spell out a French color word. Finally, there are 2 pages of fun Hidden Word / Find the Mistakes Puzzles. Full Answer Keys for all worksheets included.

    CROSSWORDS:

6 French numbers crossword puzzles, each differentiated 3 ways. Would suit a variety of ages and experiences and could be used for classwork, fun early finisher activities, homework tasks. Full Answer Keys included. There are two 0-31 crosswords, two 0-60 crosswords and two 0-100 crosswords, with all six puzzles coming in these three versions:

    • A 1-star version for lower ability, younger students, or those less experienced in French. This has number clues in English and a French word bank containing all the answers in alphabetical order.
    • A 2-star middle ability version (as above but with no word bank)
    • A 3-star more challenging version with mental math clues in French

    • A 7th crossword (differentiated), which is a FREEBIE sample, has been added to this bundle for convenience

    FOUR IN ROW

6 fun Four in a Row games to consolidate French numbers to 100 by using the numbers in mental math calculations. Students will add, subtract, multiply, and divide, to get four correct answers in a row. Boards 1-4 feature more challenging calculations with numbers to 100. Boards 5 and 6 feature only numbers to 40 and mostly less challenging calculations (ideal for younger, lower ability, or less experienced students). Print the color or black and white versions on paper or card stock (and Answer Keys if required) and laminate to use again and again. The boards work especially well printed 11x17 / A3, however Letter size / A4 is fine too. Instructions for students are also included. Instructions: Work with a partner against another pair or as an individual against another individual to get four correct answers in a row (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally). Roll a die to find which column to choose a calculation from (the columns are numbered 1-6). If there are no unanswered calculations left in the column you’ve rolled, roll again. Use different color dry wipe markers to your opponent to record your answer in the correct space on the laminated board or, if using the same color marker, add an initial or symbol.

    BINGO / LOTTO

A well-differentiated bingo / lotto (‘loto’ in French) game packet with both simple number match and more challenging mental math versions. There are 2 sets of 6 boards for each of 0-40 and 0-100 – one features the French number word, the other less challenging version features the same numbers in digit form. Print and laminate as required. Both the 0-40 and 0-100 games also have two sets of bingo cards each – you can have students using mental math calculations to match the number on their boards. Alternatively, for a less challenging game, use the French number word cards to match with the digit boards. For a medium level of challenge, you could have groups using the digit boards with the mental math calculations cards. Therefore, this should suit a range of ages, abilities, and French experience. Instructions are included on the final page.

    ‘I HAVE…WHO HAS?’ (‘J’ai…Qui a?’ in French)

French Numbers vocabulary speaking activities: 5 printable thirty-card ‘I Have Who Has?’ Games (Loop Games). Two of these are for simple digit format to French number word matching (0 to 40 and 0 to 100), and the other 3 use French number words in a mental math context (0-40, 0-60 and 0-100). Combine mental math agility with French number learning in this fun activity. The three sets cater for different ages, abilities, and experiences of French. There is no particular starting card as each loop is continuous, but all sets do have 'un' (one) in them and you might want to start them here. Each set has a different color border but if not printing in color you might want to print on different colored card stock or paper so as not to mix them up when using more than one set. The simple matching sets also form continuous loops and can be started at any card.

Distribute cards to students and one reads out the right-hand side of their card. Students check if they have the matching left-hand side. The student who does have this reads it out, followed by the right-hand side of the same card, and the process continues. To make it competitive, groups could race against each other to complete their loop.
