    Description

    1. Georgia in the New South Gallery Walk:

This is a very interactive project where students walk around the room in groups and view documents relevant to the GSE standard SS8H12. Engage your students as they view, discuss, make inferences, and more. Students answer questions at each display.

The questions range in difficulty. Students can discuss and think deeply to understand the material to a deeper degree.

I have included detail instructions on how to conduct the class project.

    Answer key included!

    2. Tell Me About: The New South- Informational Text:

Another great addition to my "Tell Me About" series. This time we're learning "The New South."

Students hear a lot of terms in the news, and they have a vague or no idea what they mean.

So, I provide simple to understand, dense in knowledge informational text that explains the concept.

    This informational piece covers:

    • What the "Old South" represented
    • Why there was a need for a "New South" rebranding
    • Henry Grady's campaign
    • The Cotton Exhibition of Atlanta

    3. Georgia in the New South Big 20:

If you're looking for Bell Ringer or "Do Now" as students come into class, you've found it! Allow students to work on questions about the New South, Tom Watson, Bourbon Triumvirate and more (SS8H7) independently or as partners through this worksheet.

This is a worksheet that students can use daily. There are 4 problems each day, totaling about 20 problems for the week (a few free spaces!).

All questions are editable, so you can fit it best with what you've taught.

Also, great for homework or warm-ups!

    And...great for preview or review.

    My questions differ in difficulty.

Types of question: Short answer, multiple choice, fill-in-the-blank, research, drawing, and much more!
